APPLE CAKE
Äppelkaka
1½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
¾ cups soured milk
1/3 cup chopped pistachios
3 teaspoons crushed cardamom
Heat the oven to 350F.

Serve this with some whipped cream or vanilla sauce.
Approx 8 servings
4 oz butter or margarine, room-tempered
2 eggs1½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
¾ cups soured milk
Filling:
1 grated apple1/3 cup chopped pistachios
3 teaspoons crushed cardamom
Heat the oven to 350F.
Beat fat and sugar until fluffy and add the eggs, one
by one. Mix flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar and stir this in together
with the soured milk.
Mix grated apple, pistachios and cardamom.
Grease and flour a round springform pan. Pour half of
the batter in the pan and half of the filling on top. Pour on remaining batter
and finish with remaining filling. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 35
minutes.
