Pie cake with sweet berry filling - Pajdegstårta med bärfyllning (retro)

PIE CAKE WITH SWEET BERRY FILLING
Pajdegstårta med bärfyllning

4 to 6 servings

Pie dough:
1 ¾ cups flour
salt
5 oz butter or margarine
2 tablespoons cold water

Filling:
1 ¼ to 1 ¾ cups berry compote
or fresh berries (blackberries, raspberries,
strawberries)


Mix flour and salt and work the fat in with your fingers. Add water and quickly work the dough together. Roll it out so that it’s big enough for both the bottom of the pie pan and to decoration strips over the pie. Dress the pan with dough in the bottom and a little bit up along the sides. Prick here and there with a fork, then pour in the berry filling.

Shape the decoration strips to a pattern over the pie and bake in the middle of the oven at 440F for about 25 minutes.

Serve lukewarm with vanilla sauce and whipped cream.
