Tangerine delight - Mandarindelikatess (retro)

TANGERINE DELIGHT
Mandarindelikatess

4 servings

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 ¼ cups water
1/3 cup rice
¼ to 1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 can tangerine wedges

Decoration:
chopped almonds
tangerine wedges


Boil water and fat, add the rice and boil until almost tender. Dilute with milk and continue boiling until the rice is ready. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the sugar and let the porridge get cold. Then, stir in the egg yolks.

Grease an oven-proof dish and cover the bottom with tangerine wedges. Save some for decoration. Spread the rice porridge over the fruit. Beat the egg whites until stiff, gently turn in remaining sugar and spread this meringue on top. Bake until golden in the middle of the oven at 350F.

Decorate with chopped, roasted almonds and tangerine wedges.
