HAM, EGG AND BREAD LUNCH DELIGHT

1½ tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon chopped chili pepper (optional)
8 slices white loaf bread
1 ¾ cups grated cheese
2 cups milk
4 eggs
½ teaspoon salt
pepper
½ teaspoon oregano
sliced tomato
Chop the onion and slice the ham. Melt the fat in a saucepan and sizzle the onion until tender. Blend in ham and optional chili pepper.

Make a delicious lunch with ham, egg and bread. You
can also serve it as Sunday breakfast.
4 to 5 servings
1 onion
7 oz smoked ham or “kassler”1½ tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon chopped chili pepper (optional)
8 slices white loaf bread
1 ¾ cups grated cheese
2 cups milk
4 eggs
½ teaspoon salt
pepper
½ teaspoon oregano

parsleysliced tomato
Chop the onion and slice the ham. Melt the fat in a saucepan and sizzle the onion until tender. Blend in ham and optional chili pepper.
Trim the crusts off the bread and cut them into
triangles. Put half of the slices in a greased, oven-proof dish and pour the
ham mixture on top. Sprinkle with half of the cheese and then put on remaining
bread.
Mix milk, eggs, salt and spices and pour it in the
pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake in the middle of the oven at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes. Decorate with a sprig of parsley and some
sliced tomato.
Serve and enjoy!
