Soft cherry cookies - Mjuka körsbärsformar

SOFT CHERRY COOKIES
Mjuka körsbärsformar

Juicy cherries make these cookies what they are. Serve them with a dab of whipped cream!

18 to 20 cookies

3½ oz butter or margarine
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups flour
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon crushed instant coffee
½ teaspoon ground cloves
4 tablespoons milk
fresh juice from ½ lemon
¾ cup canned cherries

Stir fat and sugar until fluffy and add the eggs, one by one. Mix flour, cocoa baking powder, cinnamon, coffee and cloves in a bowl. Blend the flour mixture into the egg batter and then add milk and lemon juice. Blend in the cherries.

Drop out the batter into greased small baking tins or double muffin paper tins. Fill to approx 2/3 and bake in the middle of the oven at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes or until done. Allow to cool slightly, unmould onto a rack and let cool completely.
