BAKED APPLES WITH KIWI SAUCE
Stekta äpplen med kiwisås
Serves 4
1 cup fresh orange juice
1½ oz sugar
4 apples
1 oz butter or margarine
4 kiwi fruits
3 tablespoons dry white wine
some ground cinnamon
1 oz flaked almonds
Boil the orange juice and sugar together on high heat while stirring. Peel and core the apples and put them in a greased oven-proof pan. Pour the orange liquid over the apples and bake in the oven at 390F until tender.
Peel and split the kiwi fruits and put them in a mixer or a food processor together with wine and cinnamon. Roast the almonds.
Serve the apples with the kiwi puré, sprinkle with flaked almonds and also ice cream or whipped cream.
