Pear cake with cinnamon - Päronkaka med kanel

PEAR CAKE WITH CINNAMON
Päronkaka med kanel

You stir this cake together in no time. Pears and juice make it moist and the cinnamon gives it an extra boost.

1 cake, approx 8 pieces

1 can pears, 14 oz
1½ cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
1½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
3½ oz butter or margarine
2/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dried breadcrumbs for the baking pan


Grease and sprinkle a round 6-cup baking pan.

Drain and slice the pears. Save the liquid. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in the fat, add milk and blend well. Drop the batter out in the baking pan and press down the sliced pears in a nice pattern. Brush with some of the pear liquid and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake in the lower part of the oven at 390F for about 40 minutes. Leave to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then brush with pear liquid.

Transfer the cake to a plate and allow to cool completely.
