THE FAMILY’S BEEF STEW

7 oz fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt, pepper
1 ¼ cups meat bouillon
4 tablespoons red wine
¾ cup mild chili sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
½ teaspoon dried thyme
Cut the meat in cubes and cut the onions in ½-inch
pieces. Split the mushrooms if they’re large. Heat the oil in a frying pot and
brown the meat until tender. Flavour with salt and pepper and take up the meat.

Tender beef cubes with spring onions and mushrooms
in a tomato gravy is a lovely dish to serve for dinner. Make sure to let the
meat simmer until really tender.

1 1/3 lbs thick flank or rump steak
3 to 4 spring onions7 oz fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt, pepper
1 ¼ cups meat bouillon
4 tablespoons red wine
¾ cup mild chili sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
½ teaspoon dried thyme
Sizzle onions and mushrooms in the pot for about 5
minutes. Put the meat back in the pot and add bouillon, wine, chili sauce,
tomato purée and thyme. Simmer on low heat for about 40 minutes or until the
meat is tender.
Flavour to taste and adjust if necessary. Serve and
enjoy!
