Crispy fried plaice - Knaperstekt rödspätta

CRISPY FRIED PLAICE
Knaperstekt rödspätta

Coat the plaice fillets in a spicy flour mixture and fry on the stovetop until crisp. Couldn’t make them better than this.

4 servings

1 1/3 lbs fillets of plaice or other flatfish
3 tablespoons dried breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons rye flour
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon salt
powdered chili
cayenne
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Decoration:
lemon slices
dill sprigs

Mix dried breadcrumbs, flour, oregano, salt, chili powder and cayenne on a plate. Mix the melted fat and the lemon juice on another plate. Dip the fish first in the fat, then coat with flour mixture.

Melt the fat in a frying pan and fry on medium heat, 2 to 4 minutes per side, until golden brown and done. Put on a serving plate, decorate with sliced lemon and dill sprigs and serve the fish with boiled potatoes, remoulade sauce and a salad.

Enjoy!

Bella
