Beef with soured cream and sweet pepper - Biff med paprikagräddfil

BEEF WITH SOURED CREAM AND SWEET PEPPER
Biff med paprika-gräddfil

Shredded beef with sweet peppers and beans will definitely be a well-liked, popular dish.

4 servings

1 to 1 1/3 lbs boneless beef, e.g. thick flank
1 onion
1 green bell pepper
1 to 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
½ to 1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1 meat bouillon cube
2 tablespoons tomato paste
5 oz green beans, frozen and thawed
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

For serving:
1/3 to ¾ cup soured cream
paprika
black pepper

Finely shred the meat. Peel the onion and trim the sweet pepper. Slice the onion and cut the bell pepper in rings (you can’t say “slices” there, can you?). Melt the fat in a large frying pan or pot and brown the meat until coloured. Take it up, then sizzle the onion for a few minutes. Sprinkle with flour, paprika and salt and add water plus bouillon cube.

Put the meat back in the pan, cover with a lid and fry on low heat for about 30 minutes. Blend in tomato purée, sweet pepper and green beans. Fry slowly for another 5 minutes or so. Flavour to taste and add more spices if needed. Sprinkle with parsley.

Flavour the soured cream with some paprika and black pepper and serve it with the meat.

Enjoy!

Bella
