Ground meat favourite - Favoritfärs

GROUND MEAT FAVOURITE
Favoritfärs

Maybe this will be your favourite ground meat dish as well? Serve with raw-fried potatoes and a fresh green salad.

4 to 5 servings

1 lb ground meat, 50% beef, 50% pork
1/3 cup dried breadcrumbs
2/3 cup water, preferably carbonated
1 teaspoon salt
white pepper
2 egg yolks
2½ oz smoked ham
4 tablespoons mustard
2 tomatoes
1 ¾ cups grated cheese


Mix dried breadcrumbs and water and let swell for 5 minutes. Mix the ground meat with salt, pepper and egg yolks. Blend in the breadcrumbs. Shred the ham and mix it with mustard. Slice the tomatoes.

Put half of the meat in an oven-proof dish and put on the ham-mustard mixture. Sprinkle with good ¾ cup of the grated cheese and put on remaining meat. Spread the tomato slices over it and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake in the middle of the oven at 390F for about 40 minutes.
