Luxurious Beef Stroganoff - Biff Stroganoff Lyx

LUXURIOUS BEEF STROGANOFF
Biff Stroganoff Lyx

A luxurious version of the Beef Stroganoff, where both mushrooms and wine are among the ingredients. An ideal stew when you have dinner guests as it’s always very well liked.

4 servings

14 oz to 1 lb boneless beef, e.g.
thick flank or roast beef
1 middle-sized onion
3½ to 5 oz fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons oil
4 tablespoons mild tomato paste or mild chili sauce
1 tablespoon flour
2/3 cup red wine
or ½ meat bouillon cube + 2/3 cup water
½ to 1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¾ to 1 ¼ cups soured cream

Cut the meat in even-sized cubes or shreds. Chop the onion and slice the mushrooms. Heat up the oil in a frying pot and brown the meat on all sides until coloured. Add onion and mushrooms and sizzle for a few minutes. Stir in tomato purée and flour and add wine, salt and pepper.

Simmer the meat slowly on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Add the soured cream and heat everything up, but do not let it boil after the addition of the soured cream.

Serve straight from the pot or in a serving bowl with raw-fried potatoes, boiled rice or pasta and a green salad.
