1 cake
Layer:
1.2 cup flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
3½ oz butter or margarine
0.2 cup sugar
1 small egg
Filling:
1.7 oz butter or margarine
5.3 oz almond paste
2 eggs
3 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
Icing:
3½ oz butter or margarine
0.4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons regular milk
3½ oz almonds, roughly chopped
Quickly work flour, baking powder, butter, sugar and egg, preferably in a food processor. Line a springform pan, diameter approx 9 inches, with the dough and leave cold for an hour.
Stir butter, almond paste, eggs. flour and baking powder until smooth in a food processor. Pour the batter into the pie crust and push down the edges of the crust so that it reaches about ½ inch above the almond paste mixture. Bake in the middle or the lower part of the oven at 392F for about 15 minutes.
Mix together the ingredients for the icing in a saucepan. Heat while stirring gently until everything is well blended and thickened. Spread the icing over the cake and bake at 437F for 5 to 7 minutes or until the surface is nicely golden.
