APPLE CAKE WITH ALMOND PASTE
Äppelkaka med mandelmassa

10 pieces

1.7 oz butter
3½ oz almond paste
3 eggs
0.6 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
1.2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
0.4 cup regular milk
3 apples


Preheat oven to 347F.

Melt the butter and allow to cool. Finely grate the almond paste into a bowl. Stir in the eggs, one by one, and stir in sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix flour and baking powder and stir into the batter together with melted butter and milk.

Pour half the batter in a greased, floured springform pan, diameter approx 9 inches. 

Peel, core and slice the apples in wedges. Put half of the wedges over the surface. Pour on remaining batter and top with remaining apple wedges. Bake for approx 40 minutes. Try with a tester.
