FILLED GROUND MEAT SCHNITZEL
Fylld färsschnitzel
Serves 4
1.1 lbs ground meat (beef + pork)
0.3 cup oats
1 tablespoon potato starch
0.6 cup water or regular milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
some black pepper
4 slices smoked ham
4 slices cheese
dried breadcrumbs
butter or margarine
Let the oats swell in the water for 10 minutes. Add ground meat, potato starch, egg, salt and pepper. Shape the meat to 8 thin "steaks". Put them two and two together with ham and cheese in between.
Turn the schnitzels over in dried breadcrumbs and fry them over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
Serve with potato wedges, sugarsnaps and sliced tomatoes.
