FINE BACON PATTIES

Serves approx 4
1.1 lb ground beef
2 egg yolks or 1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
some black pepper
4 cold, boiled potatoes
8 slices streaky bacon
8 tablespoons grated cheese
or sliced cheese
2 large tomatoes
Preheat oven to 437F.
Mix the ground beef with egg yolks or egg, salt and pepper. Grate the cold potatoes and blend them in. Divide the meat in 8 pieces and shape to patties. Place them on a greased, oven-proof plate and wrap a slice of bacon around each. Cook for about 25 minutes in the middle of the oven.
Split the tomatoes and sprinkle with garlic salt. Place them next to the patties and sprinkle with the cheese after about 8 minutes.
Serve with rice or potatoes.
