GROUND MEAT PATTIES WITH BEETS
Färsbiffar med rödbetor
Serves 2
7 oz ground meat (beef + pork)
2 tablespoons dried breadcrumbs
0.2 cup water
1 egg
salt, pepper
0.3 cup chopped, canned beets
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
0.4 cup water
1 tablespoon concentrated veal fond
Let the breadcrumbs swell in the water for about 5 minutes. Mix in the ground meat, egg, salt and pepper to a smooth batter. Add beets and onions and shape into 4 patties. Fry them in butter for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
Pour water and fond in the pan and simmer for a minute or so. Serve with boiled potatoes and boiled vegetables or a salad.
