Quick and Easy Falu Sausage Au Gratin - Snabb falugratäng

QUICK AND EASY FALU SAUSAGE AU GRATIN
Snabb falugratäng

Serves 4

1 lb 3 oz Falu sausage or
suitable equivalent
1 onion
1 tablespoon butter
2 garlic cloves
7 oz pasta
1.1 lb wok vegetables
(in Sweden that's a frozen mix
of carrots, cauliflower, broccoli,
mini corn, water chestnuts, 
green beans and so on)
7 oz cream cheese
2 cans crushed tomatoes, each
approx 14 oz
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
salt, pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
0.8 cup grated cheese

For serving:
salad


Preheat oven to 437F.

Slice the sausage and cut the slices in half. Peel and chop the onion. Sauté sausage and onion in butter in a frying pan. Crush the garlic and blend the wok vegetable mix into the pan. Continue cooking until tender. 

Boil and drain the pasta. Mix the pasta with the sausage mix and pour it all in a greased oven-proof pan. Beat together cream cheese, crushed tomatoes and mustard and flavor with salt, pepper and thyme. Pour this over the pasta and make sure to blend it all well. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for about 30 minutes until nicely colored.

Serve with a salad.
