PAPRIKA BELL PEPPER BEEF STEW

Serves approx 4
1.1 lbs top round or roast beef
2 large onions, chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons paprika
1 can crushed tomatoes, approx 14 oz
1.4 cups bouillon
3/4 teaspoon salt
some black pepper
½ to 1 teaspoon chopped chili fruit
3 bell peppers in different colors
Cut the meat in approx 1 x 1 inch cubes. Sauté the onion in a pot until tender and remove from heat. Add meat, paprika and crushed tomatoes. Flavor with salt and pepper. Dilute with half of the bouillon and simmer, covered, until the meat is tender, about 1 hour. Add remaining bouillon while cooking.
Trim and shred the bell peppers. Add them and the chopped chili towards the end of the cooking time.
Serve with rice or potatoes.
Trivia: In Sweden, "paprika" is the word for both bell peppers and the powder.
