10.6 oz butter or margarine
2.4 cups sugar
4 eggs
3.2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
finely grated zest from 2 oranges
0.8 cup sour cream
Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar
4 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1.7 oz candied orange peel
Preheat oven to 347F.
Stir butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat the eggs, one by one. Mix flour with baking powder and stir it into the batter. Blend in orange zest and sour cream and stir to a smooth batter. Pour in a roasting pan, lined with baking paper, and bake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes.
Stir together powdered sugar and orange juice and spread it over the cooled cake. Sprinkle with candied orange peel and allow the icing to set. Cut the cake in squares.
