Äppelpudding
Enough for 8, but you can gorge
yourself on the leftovers another day – if there are any leftovers that is.
5 apples
7 oz sliced wheat bread or walnut bread1 cup milk
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
7 oz melted butter or margarine
1½ tablespoons powdered sugar
Heat the oven to 350F. Grease and flour a round pan, diameter approx 9 inches. Core the apples and cut them in thin wedges. Put a layer of apple wedges in the bottom of the pan.
Dip the sliced bread in the milk and
take them up. Beat eggs and sugar. Add the fat, put in the bread and remaining
apple wedges and blend well. Pour the batter in the pan and bake in the middle
of the oven for about 45 minutes. Allow to cool, sift with some powdered sugar
and serve with vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy!
