DESSERT CAKE WITH RASPBERRY SAUCE

1 ¼ cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup flour
dash salt
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
1½ tablespoon light-coloured treacle/molasses
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
Heat the oven to 350F.

1 cake,
approx 12 pieces
5 oz butter and margarine
3 eggs1 ¼ cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup flour
dash salt
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
1½ tablespoon light-coloured treacle/molasses
Raspberry sauce:
½ lb raspberries, fresh or frozen1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
For serving:
3/4 cup heavy CreamHeat the oven to 350F.
Melt the fat and lightly beat eggs and sugar. Mix
the dry ingredients and stir them into the egg batter with treacle and melted
fat. Pour in a springform pan, diameter about 10 inches (or slightly
smaller). Bake in the lower part of the oven for about 20 minutes. Allow to
cool, then decorate with fresh berries if you wish.
Sauce: Mix the raspberries and flavour with some
sugar if needed. Serve the cake with the raspberry sauce and whipped cream.
