KASSLER AU GRATIN WITH POTATOES AND LEEK
Kasslergratäng med potatis och purjolök
Serves 4
1.1 lb kassler (warm-smoked loin of pork,
boneless)
1 leek
1 tablespoon butter
1 lb 12 oz ready-made potatoes au gratin
(or if you prefer to make your own your way)
0.4 cup chili sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
0.8 cup grated cheese
Thinly slice the kassler and place them in the middle of an oven-proof plate. Clean and shred the leek. Fry until soft in butter. Mix half of it with the potatoes and put the gratin around the sliced meat. Mix remaining leek, chili sauce and herbs. Spread this over the kassler, sprinkle with cheese and cook in the oven at 392F for about 25 minutes.
Serve the gratin with a salad.
