Béarnaise party sandwich - Festsmörgås med béarnaise

BÉARNAISE PARTY SANDWICH
Festsmörgås med béarnaise

An ideal sandwich to serve when you have leftover fillet of pork or some other meat. It’s both rich and festive.

4 sandwiches

5 oz fresh mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
salt, white pepper
1 package béarnaise sauce (or use home-made)
8 to 10 oz cooked fillet of pork
1 to 1½ bananas
4 slices white loaf bread
butter or margarine
2/3 cup grated cheese


Slice the mushrooms. Melt the fat in a frying pan and sizzle the mushrooms until all the liquid has gone. Flavour with salt and pepper.

Make the sauce according to package instructions. Cut the meat and bananas in thin slices. Put the bread slices on an oven-proof plate and spread with a thin layer of fat. Put on the sliced meat, mushrooms and bananas. Pour on the sauce and sprinkle with cheese.

Bake in the lower part of the oven at 440 to 480F for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the sandwiches are nicely coloured. Serve and enjoy!
