Beef Stew with Pickled Onions - Biffgryta med syltlök

BEEF STEW WITH PICKLED ONIONS
Biffgryta med syltlök

Serves 2

2 slices steak, approx 9 oz in all
salt, white pepper
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 piece of leek, approx 4 inches
0.8 cup cream of your choice
2 teaspoons veal fond
2 teaspoons coarse mustard
0.2 cup pickled onions


Shred the meat and brown on all sides in fat in a frying pan. Flavor with salt and pepper while browning. Slice the leek and let it fry with the meat. Dilute with cream and flavor with veal fond and mustard. Stir and let boil for about 3 minutes. Flavor to taste with salt and pepper.

Add pickled onions and heat the stew through. Serve with boiled rice or potatoes and boiled green beans.
