NEAPOLITAN STEAKS

The Italian kitchen is most known among Swedes for its pasta dishes, but the meat dishes are to die for! These thin steaks with ham and mushrooms isn't very difficult to make.
Serves 4 to 6
3 to 4 slices smoked ham
butter or margarine
9 oz fresh mushrooms
4 to 6 thin slices beef, top side
½ teaspoon salt
some white pepper
finely chopped parsley
juice from 1 lemon
Shred the ham and put them in a greased, oven-proof pan. Trim and slice the mushrooms, brown them in some fat and transfer them to the pan. Brown the meat on both sides in some fat and put it over the ham and mushrooms. Flavor with salt, pepper and finely chopped parsley.
Put in the oven at 440F for about 20 minutes. Turn the meat and drizzle with lemon juice. Cook for another couple of minutes and serve straight from the pan with baked potatoes and a tossed salad with tomatoes.
