WARM LONG SANDWICHES
Varma smörgåslängder

A warm sandwich is good in the evening with just a cup of tea or bouillon. Make them long so each person can decide how large a piece they want.

4 lengths, approx 12 inches in length each

Sardine sandwich:
2 slices white bread cut lengthwise
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
approx 5½ oz cottage cheese
2 cans sardines in tomato sauce
1 tablespoon chili sauce
8 slices cheese, e.g. Port Salut

Sausage and anchovy sandwich:
2 slices white bread cut lengthwise
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3½ oz finely shredded smoked sausage of your choice
4 tomatoes
1 small can anchovy fillets
0.8 cup grated cheese


Sardine sandwich

Butter the bread and put the cottage cheese in a line in the middle. Mash the sardines with a fork and add the chili sauce. Spread this mixture on the sandwiches and cover with sliced cheese. Bake in the oven at 440F for about 12 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is lightly colored.

Sausage and anchovy sandwich

Butter the bread. Cover the Surface with shredded sausage and put on sliced tomatoes and anchovy fillets. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 440F for about 12 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is lightly colored.

Cut the sandwiches in pieces at the table.
