GROUND MEAT MUSHROOM PIE

Serves 4
Dough:
0.8 cup flour
0.4 cup wholemeal flour (graham flour)
4½ oz butter
2 tablespoons cold water
Filling:
14 oz ground meat (beef/pork or
whichever you prefer)
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion
10½ oz chantarelles or other mushrooms
1 garlic clove
0.2 cup chopped dill
Egg cover:
3 eggs
0.4 cup creme fraiche
0.4 cup regular milk
salt, pepper
Preheat the oven to 437F.
Dough:
Mix flour, wholemeal flour and butter to a crumble, add water and work to a dough. Press it into a pie pan, diameter approx 9 inches, prick it with a fork and put in the fridge for 30 minutes. Pre-bake for 10 minutes.
Filling:
Fry the meat until crumbly with 1 tablespoon of the butter. Peel and chop the onion. Trim the mushrooms. Fry onion and mushrooms until it's starting to color in a frying pan with 1 tablespoon butter. Add crushed garlic and salt. Put meat and mushrooms in the pie pan.
Egg cover:
Beat eggs, creme fraiche, milk, salt and pepper and pour this in the pan. Bake until set, approx 35 minutes.
