ORANGE TOSCA CAKE

1 cake, 10 pieces
3½ oz butter
0.4 cup regular milk
0.2 cup heavy cream
1 orange
2 eggs
0.6 cup sugar
1.2 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
3½ oz almond paste
Tosca:
3½ oz butter
0.4 cup fresh orange juice
zest from 1 orange
0.4 cup sugar
0.2 cup flour
2 tablespoons heavy cream
3½ oz flaked almonds
Preheat oven to 347F.
Melt the butter in a saucepan, remove from heat and add milk, cream and orange zest. Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy, then beat the butter mixture into the egg batter. Mix flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar and sift this into the batter. Finely grate the almond paste and stir it in.
Pour the batter in a greased springform pan, diameter approx 9 inches, and bake in the lower part of the oven for 30 minutes.
Tosca:
Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add orange juice and sugar and stir until blended. Beat in the flour and cream and heat while stirring until it thickens. Stir in the almond flakes. Gently spread the batter over the cake, increase the heat to 390F and bake until surface is golden, approx 10 minutes.
