ALMOND PEARS
Mandelpäron
Fresh fruit, as well as a little more elaborate fruity desserts, are especially good after a sturdy meat dinner. Large, juicy pears are best for this easy-made and delicious dessert.
Serves 4
4 large, juicy, ripe pears
butter or margarine for the pie pan
zest and juice from ½ orange
7 oz almond paste
Peel the pears and cut them in wedges. Put them on a greased, oven-proof plate. Drizzle with orange juice and sprinkle with the zest. Coarsely grate the almond paste straight on top of the pears.
Bake at 390F for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pears are tender. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Enjoy!
