Ria's Apple Dessert - Rias äppeldessert

RIA'S APPLE DESSERT
Rias äppeldessert

This apple dessert is a version of the old-time apple cake. Serve lukewarm with Cold whipped Cream, vanilla sauce or vanilla ice Cream.

Serves 4

3½ oz butter or margarine
1 cup flour
approx 0.9 cup Brown sugar
0.4 cup oats
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons Maizena
0.8 cup water
½ teaspoon vanilla sugar
3 apples

Decoration:
cinnamon
apple slices

Melt the fat and allow to cool. Mix the flour with 0.6 cup Brown sugar, oats and the melted fat. Sprinkle half of the mixture in a greased, oven-proof pan.

Core and cut the apples in wedges. Mix remaining Brown sugar, cinnamon, Maizena and water in a saucepan and boil until it thickens. Add vanilla sugar and apple wedges and stir so that the apples are covered. Put them in the pan and cover with remaining mixture.

Bake at 350F until nicely colored, about 40 minutes. Serve as suggested above or with whatever you like (if I say that to one of my friends, he pours tomato ketchup over it …). Sprinkle with cinnamon and decorate with thin apple slices.

Enjoy!

Bella
