SAUSAGE STEW WITH SOURED CREAM
Korvgryta med gräddfil
Sausage is one of the most common staples on the Swedish dinner table, served more or less every week. Therefore, it's necessary with variation. This dish is extra tasty thanks to the soured cream, which gives a fresh, tart taste.
Serves 4
2 large onions
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
6 hot dogs or wiener sausages
8 cold, boiled potatoes
6 tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
some white pepper
0.6 cup soured cream
1 bunch chives
Peel the onions and cut in thin slices. Sautée in some fat in a frying pan. Cut the sausages in approx 1 inch pieces and let them go with the onions for a while. Slice the potatoes. Scald, skin and chop the tomatoes.
Add potatoes, tomatoes, salt and pepper to the onion-sausage mixture. Heat through while stirring gently. Add sour cream and stir, but after this you mustn't boil any longer. Sprinkle with chopped chives and serve with a green salad.
If you want more taste, you can add ½ to 1 teaspoon paprika.
Enjoy!
