Minute Steaks with Bacon and Cream Cheese - Lövbiff i panna med bacon och färskost

MINUTE STEAKS WITH BACON AND CREAM CHEESE
Lövbiff i panna med bacon och färskost

Serves 4

8 small onions
5 oz diced, streaky bacon
1 bell pepper, red or yellow
1.1 lb thin slices of beef, "minute steaks"
0.4 cup water
1 tablespoon concentrated veal fond
0.8 cup creme fraiche
5½ oz cream cheese, roast bell pepper flavor
if you can get that
9 oz broccoli
1 tablespoon Chinese soy sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
salt, black pepper
butter for frying


Split the onions if they're too big. Dice the bell pepper. Sauté onion, bacon and bell pepper in butter for a few minutes and transfer to a pot or a shallow frying/serving pan. Flavor the meat with salt and pepper and brown it in butter. Add the meat to the pot. Whisk the frying pan with water and add veal fond, creme fraiche and cream cheese. Bring to a boil. Split the broccoli in small florets and put them in the sauce. Bring to a boil and add soy sauce and paprika. Flavor to taste with salt and pepper.

Pour the sauce over everything in the pan and simmer until the meat is cooked through. Serve with boiled or riced potatoes or anything else you like.
