Vanilla Fromage - Vaniljfromage

VANILLA FROMAGE
Vaniljfromage

The black, characteristic vanilla seeds are clearly visible in this lovely vanilla fromage.

Serves 6

4 gelatin sheets = 2 teaspoons powdered gelatin
water
3 eggs
0.4 cup sugar
1 vanilla pod
0.4 to 0.6 cup heavy cream

Decoration:
chopped nuts
cocktail cherries


Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water for 5 to 10 minutes. Separate the eggs. Beat the yolks with the sugar until white and fluffy. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Add them to the egg batter. Beat the egg Whites until stiff and beat the cream.

Squeeze the gelatin sheets and melt them in their own moisture over a waterbath or in a small saucepan on low heat. Pour the gelatin into the egg batter, while stirring, in a narrow (thin?) stream. Then add the cream and then the egg whites gently into the fromage. Just before setting, pour it up into serving glasses or cups.

Store cold and decorate just before serving with chopped nuts, flaked roasted almonds and cocktail cherries or fruit.
