CREAMY APPLE DESSERT
Krämig äppeldessert
Use firm, tart apples for this dessert. If you have a garden, use what can be used while it's in season!
Serves 4
5 large apples as above
butter or margarine
1 cup cottage cheese
0.8 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs
0.4 cup heavy cream
½ teaspoon ground or crushed cardamom
Peel the apples, core them and cut them in rather thin wedges. Put them in a greased, oven-proof pan.
Mix cottage cheese, sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, eggs and cream with electric beater or food processor. Pour this over the apple wedges and flavor with cardamom. Put the dessert on the oven rack in the lower part of the oven at 350F and bake for about 1 hour until nicely colored and the apples are tender.
Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla sauce.
