Fruit Meringue Dessert - Marängfruktkräm

FRUIT MERINGUE DESSERT
Marängfruktkräm

This dessert is quick and easy to make, and both grown-ups and kids will probably like it.

Serves 4

Approx 0.4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon Maizena
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
2 cups diced fruit, either fresh and well ripe
or canned fruit

Decoration:
2 tablespoons flaked Almonds


Mix 0.2 cup sugar, Maizena, milk and egg yolks in a pot. Pour the egg whites in a bowl. Simmer this creme while beating vigorously, pour it in a bowl and add vanilla sugar. Beat the creme until cold.

Put the fruit in an oven-proof, greased pan and pour the meringue creme on top. Beat the egg whites until stiff and add remaining sugar, little by little, while beating. Spread it out over the meringue creme and sprinkle with roasted, flaked almonds.

Put the pan in the middle of the oven at 390F and bake until the white is slightly golden, about 5 minutes.
