Ground Meat Cake with Vegetables - Grönsaksfylld köttfärs

GROUND MEAT CAKE WITH VEGETABLES
Grönsaksfylld köttfärs

Ground meat in the oven is practical and minds its own business once it's in there. The vegetables gives the meat a good taste. Already boiled vegetables are best to use as they have to be ready at the same time as the meat. Instead of vegetables, you can fill with browned mushrooms and onions.

Serves 4

3 tablespoons dried breadcrumbs
0.6 cup cream or bouillon
14 oz ground meat, 50/50 beef/pork
3 boiled, mashed potatoes
1 egg
1 finely chopped onion
1½ teaspoon salt
some paprika
butter or margarine for the pan
approx 10.6 oz boiled, finely cut vegetables
melted butter or margarine for brushing (optional)

Let the breadcrumbs swell in the liquid. Mix the ground meat with the bread, potatoes, egg, onion, salt and paprika and work until pliable. Put half of it in a greased, oven-proof pan, divide the vegetables on top and cover with remaining ground meat.

Put in the oven at 350F and cook for about 50 minutes. If you wish, brush it with some melted fat while cooking.

Enjoy!
